Hull is part of the regional municipality of Gatineau, Quebec and is located on the west bank of the Gatineau River and on the north shore of the Ottawa River, directly opposite Ottawa. The town was originally called Wrightstown, and was renamed Hull in 1875, for the township in England. Hull hosts a number of events throughout the year, including: Winterlude in Hull, the Tulip Festival, Museum Day, St Jean Baptiste Day, La Super Francofête, Sunset Concerts, Casino de Hull Poker Run, International Gourmet Celebration, Casino de Hull's Sound of Light, A Taste Experience, and the Outaouais Festival of Religious.
