Bois De Belle-Riviere
This regional park is located in a natural setting with a unique charm. Most of its territory is covered by an impressive wooded area that includes many mature maple trees. A huge forest garden and an ornamental garden are perfect for picnicking and various other activities. With families in mind, a lake to swim in, three fishing areas and an aquatic garden have been incorporated to the park. The site offers 10 kilometres of walking paths with shelters, equestrian services and a number of activity sites that can be rented for various events, including a complete range of services provided to organisers. Centrale de la Riveiere-des-Prairies
This river-powered electricity generating station is one of Hydro-Québec's oldest hydroelectric plants still in operation. Discover the wonders of electricity production by taking a tour of the power station, the imposing spillway built in 1983, and the interpretation centre. You can also get a close look at a generating unit. In the spring fishermen line the footbridge in the hope of landing a delicious American shad or two. Centre de la nature
A member of the Association des grands jardins du Québec. This huge green space is spread over four kilometers and a great place for outdoor activities. Enjoy a walk and be surrounded by trees, bushes, fields and gardens and complete with small lake, ponds and running brook/stream. It is said to be one of the loveliest parks of the metropolitan region. The Centre de la nature offers a range of recreational and educational activities. On the farm, children can observe a number of animals such as cow, pig, goat, donkey and even a lama. The on-site greenhouses present a permanent exposition of tropical plants as well as theme exhibitions that vary with the season; the well-equipped observatory is accessible to all levels of astronomers and stargazers. The Centre offers several sports including canoeing, kayaking and the canoeing. Shows are presented on stage on Saturdays and there are open-air movies on Sundays. Complexe Cultureal Maison Andre-Benjamin-Papineau
Built between 1818 and 1832, this magnificent fieldstone house was the home of André-Benjamin Papineau who took part in the 1837 rebellion led by his cousin Louis-Joseph Papineau. Laval University/Université Laval
The oldest French-language University in North America was founded 8 Dec 1852 by virtue of a charter signed by Queen Victoria granting the Seminaire de Quebec 'the rights and privileges of a university'. Laval University is made up of 12 faculties, 9 affiliated schools, and a department of continuing education. L’Eglise Sainte-Rose-de-Lima
This magnificent church was built from 1852 - 1856. The Church was officially acknowledged as a cultural asset in 1974 by le ministère des Affaires culturelles. Musée Armand-Frappier
The Musée Armand-Frappier introduces both the young as well as the general public to the fascinating fields of bio-science and bio-technology. You will find the contributions of Dr. Armand Frappier showcased in the development of research in public health in Québec. Space Sciences Centre
Come and explore outer space. This is the first space sciences interpretation centre in Canada and the attraction offers visitors a scientific and educational experience. The museum is divided into six zones with over 60 interactive machines and modules adapted to all age groups. The popular multimedia presentation lets the audience sit on a mobile platform that moves in synchronicity with visuals. Spectators experience vividly some of the great moments of our exploration of outer space. In the "space station", they experience the disorientation that commonly affects astronauts on a real mission. You will enjoy this eye-opening experience that includes highlights of the Apollo Lunar Program and a close look at a real moon rock.
